Should you buy a SNES Classic or Xbox One X?
Well, you might say to yourself it’s going to be much easier potentially to get a Xbox One X. However even if you paid scalper (or Think Geek) prices for the SNES Classic Edition for around 200 dollars you’ll still have money left over as opposed to the Xbox One X which will retail for $499 in the USA.
What games do you want to play? And do you already have a way to play these games?
Do you want to play some of the best 16 bit games out there including a unreleased one (Star Fox 2)? Or do you want to play some of the best next gen games with new ones planned for the future? Both systems you most likely still have a way to play these games on other devices without needing new hardware. But for the Super Nintendo Classic Edition console you’ll have a chance to play these games in HD (720p/1080p) and for the Xbox One X you’ll have a chance to play these games in 4K or enhanced visuals on 1080p.
For many gamers the answer will be both (especially if you are lucky enough to get the SNES Classic Edition for its retail price of $80), but for those more casual gamers it will come down to what do you want to play more? Forza, Halo, Gears of War, etc. in 4k or Donkey Kong, Mario, Zelda, Star Fox 1 & 2 in HD. The choice is yours but make it quick before either are sold out this upcoming holiday season.
